The role of the Archive
Archive of the Croatian National Academy of Music Mostar is a cantonal administrative organization and its jurisdiction covers the area of Croatian National Academy of Music and Performing Arts. The work of the Archives is regulated by the Law on Archival Materials (Official Gazette of HNK/Ž No. 07/04) as well as by-laws, Instructions on the method of handover of archival materials and registry material between the owners of archival materials, and the competent Archives in HNK/Ž (“Official newspaper HNK/Ž” no. 4/05), Rulebook on conditions and deadlines for keeping registry material and archival material, as well as selection of archival material from registry material (“Official newspaper HNK/Ž” no. 4/05), Price list of archival services “Official newspaper HNK/Ž” No. 2/06),
The tasks of the Archive are:
- recording the creator and owner of registry and archival materials;
- download of archival materials from creators and owners;
- keeping records on the archival material of its funds and collections and the book of incoming inventory and inventory for individual funds and collections;
- taking measures to protect archival material;
- carrying out professional and scientific processing of archival material;
- preparation of methodological and technical instructions on the protection, preservation and processing of archival materials;
- ensuring the conditions for the storage and use of archival materials;
- creation of scientific-intelligence and information resources;
- publication and publication of archival materials, archival inventories and professional journals;
- organization of lectures, exhibitions, promotions and other forms of cultural, educational and scientific activities;
- carrying out inter-archival and inter-institutional cooperation;
- issuing, at the request of interested legal and physical persons, certificates, certificates, certified transcripts, photocopies and other documents about the facts contained in the archive material.
The external service controls the archival and registration materials in the registries so that they are well organized. Previously, unsorted archival and registry materials were taken to the Archives with the aim of preserving them. Organized and cataloged archival material with the owner is a prerequisite for later easier work with the material in question in the Archive.
There are many users of our services who turn to the Archive in order to realize some of their rights (from employment, education, property-legal relations, convictions) in order to realize their rights. There is also a significant number of researchers who use the materials of our funds, collections and library.
Archives are institutions specialized in the preservation, protection, processing and use of original written heritage, they preserve an authentic and credible trace of the past and the events documented by these records, and at the same time protect and promote the interests and rights of citizens. In this way, they simultaneously preserve testimonies of historical events, everyday life and artistic creation, as well as the identity and fundamental values of the environment to which they belong.
